以腦波人機介面為基礎的復健系統

肌肉神經損傷、肢體癱瘓、漸凍人患者,由於難以驅動身體四肢的肌肉,導致沒有辦法達成肌肉的運動而導致肌肉萎縮。因此我們開發一套以腦波人機介面為基礎,運用電刺激連結肢體動作的復健輔具系統,藉由使用者的意念,刺激手部肌肉的動作,讓使用者依照意念完成所想要的動作,例如:抓握、抬手、或是拿取茶杯等。我們使用乾式腦波電極量測使用者的左右大腦運動區,運用深度學習網路辨識使用者動作的意念意念,並將此意念轉換成控制訊號,驅動功能性電刺激器(FES)達到控制肌肉收縮與完成特定動作、或是動作輔具系統的目的。這種透過運用人工智慧從腦電波解讀大腦的意念,驅動肌肉電流刺激,目前國外僅有少數研究團隊運用非侵入的乾式電極與人工智慧網路,來驅動FES刺激肌肉產生預期的動作;大多數的研究都是使用侵入性的腦電極,來避免頭殼不良導體對訊號的影響,但是這些電極的植入需要開腦的手術,使用者接受的意願低。我們使用非侵入性量測腦電波驅動電刺激器,且目前的研究已經可以達到86%以上的準確度,本系統可以讓肌力不足的使用者,利用腦波控制完成腦波驅動肌肉的目的。 -

本技術『磁刺激閉鎖式迴路腦機介面中風復健系統』結合具磁刺激相容之乾式腦波電極、多通道無線腦電波機、人工智慧腦波人機介面技術、臨床穿顱磁波刺激器,建構能夠運用使用者意念驅動的腦電波與磁波刺激結合系統。本裝置所使用的乾式腦波電極系統,可以在不受磁刺激雜訊干擾的情形下,量測大腦的腦波訊號,藉由本團隊所開發的時空訊號的人工智慧transformer神經網路 (Temporal-spatial Transformer Network, TSTN),來達成EEG量測中,受試者動作意念的即時偵測,在TSTN中我們運用共模空間濾波器 (CSP)將受試的腦電波對應到空間特徵訊號(feature-space signal),運用attention network取得重要的EEG 空間feature signals訊號,然後經過patch embedding將feature spatial 切割成許多patches,並經由temporal transformer 獲得使用者的意念,本技術目前只需要受試者經過4小時的訓練就可以使用,準確率接近80%。腦機介面演算法進行腦波特徵辨識後,將腦波轉換成輸出指令給穿顱磁刺激裝置,給予中風病患運動腦區磁場刺激,強化中風病患運動中風腦區神經迴路強化,進而提高復健效率與腦機介面操作上的準確性,並達到正向回饋循環效果。本技術所使用之乾式電極、乾式腦波機、與腦波人機介面演算法皆自主開發,技術完全自主掌握,完成醫療電氣安全IEC60601-1與生物相容性ISO10993認證,產品成型度高。 -
以腦波人機介面為基礎的復健系統

We used eight-channel wireless dry-electrode EEG system to measure brain signals from subject’s left and right sensorimotor areas in motor imagery movements, in which the EEG system has been certificated by IEC 60601-1 safety requirement of medical equipment and the dry electrode has passed ISO 10993 biocompatibility tests. The EEG signals were sampled at 1kHz with 24-bits data resolution, prefiltered within 4~40Hz and downsampled to 250Hz. User’s movement intentions, such as grasping or hand raising, were detected using a three-layer long-short term memory (LSTM) deep learning network with attention mechanism, and the detected commands were used to drive the FES system for rehabilitation purposes. Our FES system can be operated in a wide range of simulation frequencies, ranging from 10Hz to 200Hz, and its output current can be adjusted from 1mA to 50mA. Our current BCI system is able to classify at least four classes of imagery movements with ~80% detection accuracy.
